I made recycled tags for my recycled bags

Here's a post from my blog Living Green In A Colorful World from this week where I explore making recycled tags for my recycled FatBottomBags from #6 plastic.

I used this shrink plastic method to create sew on tags to label my handmade bags, but you could use this recycle craft to make beads or charms, ornaments, even extraordinary business cards for your recycling business.

Try it with the kids to make a fun craft and teach them about the importance of recycling.

It was a quick project that was a lot of fun!

  1. Christi,
This is a great idea and a neat tag to put on your bags!

  3. Thank you Jan & Monica. I think they will add a nice touch to the finished bags.

Monica, follow this link (it's the one to my blog) and I explain how I did it and just how easy it is :) Make it yourself

  4. wow, really lovely. It's quit a while I use single plastic bag strips on travel bags and such. I just make a knod around the grip, and write on it with a permanent marker. But these are so much more "real" and durable. You sure have to post how to shrink that plastic: I allways thought you had to buy a special set with special plastic, but that wasn't green enough to me.
