Hello All!
I'm back from my crafting hiatus (otherwise known as the academic year) and happy to be posting again!
One of my favorite ways to use up scraps is with die cuts. I've found, however, if I plan ahead, I can make those scraps do double duty. If I have a long strip of paper, I plan to punch out the die cuts so that I can use the "negative" to make a bookmark. A smaller square or rectangle piece can be used to make a gift tag.
In the example pictured, I simply glued the punched out red strip onto black cardstock (Bazzil Dotted Swiss) and sprayed it with some Glimmer Mist. The gift tag displays the "shadow" technique: I mounted the die cut negative (punched out Marrakech paper) on lavender paper, then placed a white die cut (same design, obviously) just off center of the negative. Then I glued the whole thing on to a slightly larger piece of white cardstock (Bazzil Dotted Swiss).
None of this is revolutionary, but "scrap management" is important so that you can make sure you are using every last bit of paper in the best possible way! Thanks for reading!

wow! fabulous!
