In the years BC (Before Child) Erica founded the Australian branch of a very successful international volunteer organisation, specialising in wildlife conservation and community development. Now she is a mother, leaving her professional life behind to raise her child.  She writes, creates, and leads op shopping tours once every few months (for Melbourne Op Shop Tours)  She studied Business & Finance, and Interior Design. She is environmentally passionate, and believes that new style can be recreated from old. Rather than landfill our beautiful planet with fabric, she prefers to buy second hand clothing, and refashion her own outfits. Recycled outfits make fashion more sustainable, and fun.

She started to sew and create not only outfits, but other things out of recycled materials. Her second blog; Recycled Sewing, document her non-fashion related creations. She has have been nicknamed 'The Fashion McGyver' because 'She makes stuff out of.. well anything'.  

Erica is also the one of the editors of a refashion collaborative blog Refashion Co-op.  A group that came together around a shared love for refashioning, or making over old garments into new garments and accessories, to create a space dedicated to refashioning.
